|
Eligible homeowners may qualify for a loan of up to $25,000 through the Hardest Hit Fund to help bring their mortgage current and prevent foreclosure. AHC is a participating sponsor that is assisting Lake County homeowners in accessing these loan funds.
How Does the Assistance Work?
Homeowners may qualify for two types of loans as stated below. Loans are originated as an interest-free deferred forgivable loan; they have a 10-year term, and are forgiven over the last 5 years of the term.
- Reinstatement Assistance Loans to pay mortgage arrearages, penalties and fees in full.
- Monthly Mortgage Payment Assistance Loans to pay the mortgage payment for up to 18 months. Homeowners are required to pay a portion of their income toward the mortgage.
