Home Buyer Education Classes

This 3.5 hour class, offered free of charge and conducted by a Certified Housing Counselor, will empower you to navigate the complex process of purchasing a home. You will receive an orientation to AHC's Home Buyer Programs, learn about qualifying for a mortgage, finding a property, working with home inspectors and attorneys, negotiating the sale, resolving budgeting and credit issues, and much more. Classes are open to the community at large, but completion of home buyer education is REQUIRED for all households utilizing AHC’s First-Time Home Buyer Program or Affordable Plus Mortgage.

Prompt Arrival is Required! Those that miss more than 10 minutes of this class will not receive a Certificate of Completion. Remember that a Certificate of Completion is necessary for all Affordable Plus Mortgage and First-Time Homebuyer Program participants.
